The Rebbe's Campaign

Mivtza Purim

Bringing the joy and mitzvos of Purim to every Yid —
resources, sichos, and everything you need for mivtzoim.

Mivtza Purim

The Rebbe launched Mivtza Purim to ensure that every single Yid — no matter where they are — has the opportunity to fulfill the special mitzvos of Purim. The Rebbe taught that Purim is a uniquely powerful time when “all requests are granted,” and that the joy and unity of the day has the power to hasten the Geulah.

“The mitzvos of Purim — Megillah, Mishloach Manos, Matanos L'Evyonim, and the Seudah — are all about connecting Yidden to each other and to Hashem. Go out and help another Yid fulfill even one of these mitzvos!”

— The Lubavitcher Rebbe

“On Purim the gates of Heaven are open and every prayer is accepted. When you go on mivtzoim and help another Yid do a mitzvah, you are opening the door for the entire world to receive Hashem's blessings.”

— Likkutei Sichos

The Four Mitzvos of Purim

The Rebbe stressed that every Yid should fulfill all four mitzvos of the day — and that we should help as many people as possible do the same.

📜

Megillah

Hearing every word of Megillas Esther from a kosher scroll, both at night and during the day. The Rebbe encouraged organizing public readings in hospitals, army bases, prisons, and anywhere Yidden may be found.

🎁

Mishloach Manos

Sending at least two ready-to-eat food items to at least one friend. The Rebbe taught that this mitzvah strengthens Ahavas Yisroel and Jewish unity — the very quality that brought about the Purim miracle.

🪙

Matanos L'Evyonim

Giving monetary gifts to at least two people in need on the day of Purim. The Rambam writes that this is the greatest of the Purim mitzvos, as there is no greater joy than gladdening the hearts of the poor.

🍽️

Seudas Purim

A festive daytime meal with bread, wine, and great joy. The Rebbe would farbreng for hours on Purim, inspiring Chassidim with Torah, song, and boundless simcha.
